ID Computer Services, going mobile, or shutting down?

August 17, 2015 by Lee Leave a Comment

Id Computer Services 650px

Edit: this shop has since became the Little Craft Café: https://www.facebook.com/Littlecraftcafe/

One of the few places to get your computer fixed in Ramsbottom, ID Computer Services on Bolton Road West near The Masons pub has put up a sign in the window stating that that they are going mobile.

Id Computer Services Sign

I don’t know exactly if this means that the shop is closing down though, although I had heard on the grapevine that they were indeed shutting up shop.

Does anyone know any different? Is one of the last independent places in Ramsbottom to pick-up a USB Memory stick closing? (Incidentally, if you do want a USB Memory stick, you can get them in Ramsbottom Library).

One other thing I did learn from this sign though is that the I in ID should be lower case. So, either the shop window sign is wrong, or this new sign is, or they’ve recently changed it?

Good deal with the collection and return though, fuel isn’t cheap.

St Andrews Dundee – Presbyterian Church of Kay Brow

August 5, 2015 by Lee

[nextpage title=”Next”]

Many people who live in Ramsbottom will use Kay Brow when driving through the town.

It’s one of the busier roads at rush hour despite its sharp incline and wheel spinning qualities at the top.

Nerves of steel and skillful handbrake action are required to those driving through at rush hour as you will undoubtedly be forced to stop many times.

It was whilst waiting in line to exit Kay Brow that I’ve often looked across at the raised park area to the right and wondered what was there.

So, I did a bit of digging, and for your viewing pleasure here is what I found out.

Thanks to Ramsbottom Heritage Society for the photo, their site is second to none for historical Ramsbottom photos.
