6 of the best from Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival 2016

Now in it’s 8th year, I thought I’d do a round up of what I thought were some of the ~~five~~ six best things from this years Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival.

These are in no particular order, and feel free to disagree with me in the comments box below.

Starting off with the first non-chocolate in my list is this Coffee fudge “man slice” (his words, not mine) from The Ultimate Fudge Outlet is smooth and sweet, just as fudge should be.

Next up we have some absolutely breathtaking handmade marshmallows from The Magnificent Marshmallow Company, there were lots of flavours to choose from including Strawberry and Banana, but this flavour stood out to me. They even threw in a discount for ordering more online.[/nextpage]

One of the popular collections here, they had almost all sold out when I got there. A box of 5 Lauden chocolates, these are Passion Fruit, Salted Caramel, Fresh Mint, Raspberry and Mediterranean Orange. These scream quality, on the more expensive side, for example these are £5.

Rocky Road Muffin, sorry GIANT Rocky Road Muffin by Homemade Delicious Cookies (or maybe that’s a statement not a company name?). Seriously this is as big as my fist, but smaller than my head.

Raspberry Pavlova Pop Shots by Daniel’s Delights. Once you accept that you’re going to lose a few of the meringue pieces, you’ll appreciate the tangy and smooth combination. Very nicely done.

I’ve saved the best till last. These were easily the most amazing brownies I’ve EVER eaten, and I’ve eaten many.

Do you love podcasts and have a commute, me too! You need to be listening to podcasts in your car, what I’ve done is put together several ways in which to achieve that goal quickly, cheaply and easily.

You want to listen to podcasts in your car?

If, like many people today you have a smartphone, be it an Android phone, iPhone or Windows Phone, however if you listen to podcasts but aren’t making use of your Smartphone, you are simply missing out on SO much potential.

Not only does using your Smartphone enable you to subscribe using any number of apps, thus keeping all your podcasts up to date, but the connection capabilities of a Smartphone mean that you can take your podcasts practically anywhere with you, especially in your car.

New Pizza place “The Pizza Boys” launches in Rammy

On December the 1st, a new Pizza place came into town with both a pickup and delivery option. (delivery only available for orders over £15 which I didn’t notice but to be fair is stated at the bottom of the menu on the website)

Only a year ago, they were all the rage, everyone had one, your Mum, your sister, Gran and Grandad all taking photos of themselves doing it.

What am I talking about? Yes, you guessed it, a selfie stick.

Let me set this for the record first off, technically, it’s a monopod, technically. I know, selfie stick is what everyone calls them, but personally I think that just makes them sound cheap (sadly, a lot appear to be).

Why am I talking to you about Selfie sticks? It just so happens, I recently added one to my gear. I know, I shock myself sometimes, I was one of those people who scoffed at the time. My wife even got annoyed because she wanted one at the time.

Over a year of promoting Ramsbottom

It’s been an eventful year. Since I started This is Rammy it’s grown from a website geared around promoting Ramsbottom where I just wanted to publish everything I learnt about our town, to an award winning podcast.

When it was first started, I had no idea that in less than six months I would be launching a podcast. Firstly, aside from consuming lots of podcasts as a listener, I didn’t have the first clue as to where to start to create one, other then I’d need a Mic.
