Why podcasts reach audiences that radio doesn’t.

June 13, 2015 by Lee

Unengaged Listener

Generally, the closest accepted comparison that can be given to a podcast is a radio show.

Radio shows however unlike podcasts are output constantly through the airwaves for free, their benefit is that the barrier to entry for their consumption is extremely low, all it takes is to turn on your radio, and tune it in.

Simple, there we have it, the greatest method of reaching a consumer by audio?

No, you see, the low barrier to entry is actually radio’s biggest problem with reaching an engaged audience [Read more…] about Why podcasts reach audiences that radio doesn’t.

What’s the best restaurant in Ramsbottom?

Ramsbottom, has in recent years became the unexpected foodies destination of choice for the North. With it’s short drive down the M66 and tucked away in the valley recess of Holcombe Hill, Ramsbottom has gone through many facelifts, but it’s current trend has people drooling over the options.

With around 20 restaurants in the heart of Ramsbottom alone, an area less than 0.08 square miles, it’s made very easy for customers who are able to go from restaurant to bar in a moment, even if braving some of the hills on a full stomach could be a challenge. As most restaurants in Ramsbottom are licensed though, you can have a drink at the bar until you feel a little more balanced, or not, as the case may be.

Google Maps Pac-Man April Fools

April 2, 2015 by Lee Leave a Comment

This year for 2015 Google, as always had many April Fools jokes, from the Google Panda to Google Maps Pac-Man. It’s the latter that I wanted to mention here, as not only is it a bit of fun for April Fools, it’s also very playable. To get to this, simply go to Google Maps and click on the Pac-Man box in the bottom right, this will put a small “Ready” outline on screen, this is where you’re going to play.

It’s a great little time waster, but I guess you could argue that it will help you to learn the area, shame the road names get removed, no doubt in part to keep with the theme of the original arcade game.

I took it for a spin around Ramsbottom, see if you can recognise the streets:

Glorious Day in Ramsbottom

April 26, 2014 by Lee Leave a Comment

Despite the weather reporting terrible weather this weekend its been a lovely day for getting out of the house and having a good walk around. It’s been a truly glorious day in Ramsbottom.

Me and my family popped in to Hearth of the Ram and we enjoyed a lovely lunch.

I had the burger with bacon and blue cheese. Perfectly cooked medium as requested and a reasonable bill. You’d pay more for less in Manchester City Centre.

A quick reminder too that it’s Thomas the Tank Engine weekend next weekend (3rd-5th of May) so get down and have some fun. Keep an eye out for the Fat Controller (or does political correctness mean I have to say portly controller?)
