Recently I was in conversation with Rowan Ardill at one of his Hump Day Coffee Club days (if you’ve not heard of this before, there’s some information coming up). Rowan asked had I saw the development works ongoing at the Petrol Station on Ramsbottom Lane, I hadn’t as I’d not been up there recently. This chat started the thoughts with regards to the independence of Ramsbottom and whether or not the introduction of a Starbucks locally is a threat to it.
The planning application for this Starbucks was 61364 I’d love to know your opinion on this, comment below.

It’s absolutely a threat not just because of the competition against independent shops but the fact they don’t pay their fare share of tax and don’t put anything back into the community
I totally agree. We have lots of great coffee bars in Rammy which are proudly independent.
Why would we welcome a giant chain tax avoider into our special town ?
I agree and the worst of all right outside our home more litter and more pollution go away Starbucks boulder it on a motorway like McDonald’s do not in a residential area
