Thanks for coming back for another episode of This is Rammy, the podcast where I interview local businesses, people and generally talk about what’s going on in and around Ramsbottom as it’s our town and it’s full of fantastic stories.
This week I caught up with the ever busy Simon Holland. When he’s not volunteering for Ramsbottom Rotary Club or putting on his Friday Night Networking evening you will find him at his business Jacob’s Ladder Letting Agents.
After creating Jacob’s Ladder Simon actually discovered that there is an historic set of steps in Nuttall Park which is actually called Jacob’s Ladder which has been there for around 200 or so years. Here’s a photo taken from the Ramsbottom Heritage Society photo archive of Jacob’s Ladder near Nuttall Park.
Little did I know until speaking to Simon was that he spent four years working with the Ramsbottom Fire Crew as one of the reserve Firefighters, Simon even stated they were some of the most challenging but happy four years of his life.
Simon is a big believer in going out and doing things, making connections and just being involved in the local community.
Life’s only short and I certainly want to try as many things as I can along the way. – Simon Holland
Not only is Simon doing lots around Ramsbottom but he’s also soon to go up Mt Snowdon, visit Slovenia and enjoy some sailing on a Yacht. Not bad.
I wish I had the energy that Simon has, just thinking about how much Simon manages to fit into life makes me feel pretty guilty.
