Bolton Road West Roadworks return only a week after “completion”

January 29, 2020 by Lee 2 Comments

They’re back! Electricity Northwest had been digging up the road near the Fusiliers from the 15th of Jan and originally until around the the 21st of January, but if memory serves me right, I think it overran by a day or so.

Well, if you missed those roadworks, don’t worry as they’re back for the sequel. Presumably the week they had last time wasn’t enough, or there was another fault elsewhere, either way it’s going to be chaos on the roads again.

Knowing what delays were caused last time, it might be worth subscribing to the podcast to have something to listen to?

Dundee Lane closed to vehicles following electrical repairs

January 22, 2020 by Lee Leave a Comment

Speaking to the people working at the site they say it could reopen later today, if not it will be a couple of days.

Access up to the old school building is possible but no further. Access to Carnousite would need to be from the top.

Roadworks on Dundee Lane for electrical fault could cause delays

January 21, 2020 by Lee Leave a Comment

Electricity Northwest have been busy in Ramsbottom recently.

Having recently been causing some delays whilst fixing a fault outside the Fusiliers pub on Bolton Road West (completion date has now been extended from the 21st to the 23rd) they are now attending a fault on Dundee Lane.

Tonight crews were seen excavating to repair the mains cable fault and one network indicates that the works will remain in place for a couple of days.

Gridlock causing roadworks to continue until the 21st

January 16, 2020 by Lee 1 Comment

Roadworks have yet again brought the roads around Ramsbottom to its knees causing some journeys as short as from the Hare and Hounds to Ramsbottom of just over a mile to take between 30 minutes and an hour.

The roadworks are being completed by Electricity Northwest for an underground high voltage cable (possibly related to the power outages that have occurred in the past few months nearby)

Every few months I seem to be reporting on how our roads are being suffocated by the sheer number of cars, yet new homes continue to be built and bus services get cut. Does anyone have the solution?

Factory Street Closed for Resurfacing from Tomorrow

November 17, 2019 by Lee 1 Comment

If you often use Factory Street to get through Ramsbottom, you’ll need to go round from the 18th of November as the carriageway is being resurfaced. Many thanks to Alan Groves for pointing this out to me via the Twitter account.

Signs have gone up indicating that Factory Street will be closed from the 18th of November for around a week (allowance for up to 24th of November).

This will have the potential for some knock on traffic and delays so please take this into account when travelling around Ramsbottom from tomorrow. At least it’s only a week though.
