This week I got to relive some childhood memories and got down to Arcade Club in Bury, the biggest arcade in Europe and 4th largest in the world. Did you know we had this right on our doorstep?
Andy and his team do an amazing job at keeping these old machines running, he mentioned that some of them were only ever designed to run for two years, and here they are decades later, still going strong.
One thing that shocked me about Arcade Club, was the price. In this episode you’ll actually hear an audible gasp when I realise just how long you get for the price of entry.
Me and some friends actually went to Arcade Club the Friday after I recorded this interview and had a load of fun, we were there for almost four hours. One thing that surprised me was that the machine we were all most impressed with was a 1979 version of Asteroids, the bullets seem to burn out of the screen when you fire. None of us could work out how that was done, but we were very impressed.
The format of this week’s podcast episode was slightly different, I would love it if you could provide feedback, one way is to use this little poll box here 🙂
