This weekend it’s been the return of one of the most successful events that is on the Ramsbottom calendar. That event is the Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival. This year we’ve seen potentially a record turnout of people with the streets heaving with people all eagre to buy chocolate of various shapes and sizes.
Whilst chatting to Little Blonde Bakes and asking about their dwindling stock the stall owner mentioned that her daughter was back baking more right that minute. I know they are due back on Sunday with lots more stock. Whilst I’m talking about them, if you’ve not heard of Little Blonde Bakes, they’re local and make some lovely looking cakes and bakes. Check out their Instagram page.
One of the reasons I was visiting the festival was because a friend suggested it would be great to chat to some people visiting the festival, see how far they’ve came from etc. Great idea, something I’d thought about doing previously but it’s often so busy it’s difficult to stop without causing an obstruction. Nice and easy right? Just I’ll chat to a few people, ask them where they’ve come from and if they’ve been before.
I was totally wrong, the first family were lovely, Linzi, Paul and Amy who came from Chadderton to visit the chocolate festival, then I struck out, nobody was interested. I have to put it down to it being lunchtime, and me clearing having a “don’t talk to me I’m a weirdo” look on my face.
As well as the chocolate festival this weekend me and my son were out looking for Rammy Rocks down near the River Irwell. Speaking of which, did you get chance to visit the Rammy Rocks stall at the Chocolate Festival? You could paint and make your own creations, then you could choose to hide or keep them too. Great work all involved.
If you’ve not aware of Rammy Rocks, check out the Facebook group.
