We’re well known for putting on fantastic events and festivals here in Ramsbottom, but have you heard of the Ramsbottom Christmas Tree Festival? This event is starting on the 1st of December down at Dundee United Reformed Church.
Local shops and businesses will provide a Christmas tree to Dundee United Reformed Church decorated in their own style. There will be raffles for some fantastic prizes and money raised will go towards Speakeasy Ramsbottom which is a specialist aphasia charity based in Ramsbottom.
It starts on Friday the 1st of December and the Mayor will be opening up at 1pm on that day.
I discuss this, changes in Ramsbottom and more with Susan Ashworth and Stuart Lees from Dundee United Reformed Church and more of the regular segments too.
If you’re wondering what shops Susans family used to have, her Dad had the wine shop opposite St Pauls church and her Mum and friend had a ladies dress shop. This later changed to a children’s clothes shop on Bridge Street.
Ramsbottom United News:
It’s been a mixed bag of results for The Rams recently with a great 3 nil win over Stalybridge Celtic in the Evo-Stik League Cup, followed by a 4-1 loss to Altrincham, who to be fair were the highest ranked side at the time and even though we got a goal in first in under two minutes, they were just too tough for us. Then today, we’ve had another great result with a fantastic 3-2 Away win against second placed in the table Bamber Bridge.
I was personally quite pleased with this one as we were beaten 1-0 when Bamber Bridge visited us at home, which just happened to be the first football match I took my son to. You rotters! So well done lads, thanks for settling the score.
Ramsbottom United currently sit in 11th in the Evo-Stik North table which is exactly midtable.
