This weekend would most likely have been the weekend that Head for the Hills (originally Ramsbottom Festival) would have hit our town with music, food, arts and family friendly entertainment.
If you’re not familiar, Head for the Hills had taken place in Ramsbottom since 2011 with previous headliners such as The Boomtown Rats, Maxïmo Park, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Inspiral Carpets and Sinead O’Connor to name just a few.
It also featured arts, international acts, emerging UK talent and local heroes.

I wasn’t sure what to expect this year, the first for the best part of a decade without the festival. It turns out, I’m missing it more than I expected.
At least we have The Tour of Britain coming through town this weekend to distract us, but the hills are certainly NOT alive with the sound of music.
How do you feel? Do you miss it? Have you forgotten all about it?

My son hasn’t mentioned it, but I think he might miss it a bit too….
