After several years of rumours, Wetherpoons have finally managed to lay claim to our town. With the auction and sale of the old Police Station having now completed it’s come to light that the new owners are to open a Wetherspoons.
Wetherspoons already have a firm presence in Bury town centre with The Art Picture House and The Robert Peel, the question now is what will they call this one in Ramsbottom and will it keep to the feel of the town?
What do you think it will be called, keep in mind it’s on the location of the previous Police Station, will it follow the naming convention like The Robert Peel in Bury? Have your say in the comments box below or share on social media to get your friends involved.
Recently JD Wetherspoon were quoted saying:
negotiations for the site ‘haven’t quite got over the line yet’ :: Search continues for other ‘good sites’ to develop
This was in reference to a new Bar that they are opening in Teeside.
Bridge Street is a very prominent location in Ramsbottom for a Wetherspoons, but there is already so much competition around; can it succeed and will it put other local drinking establishments at risk?
Have your say:

This will give the other pubs a kick to improve as some have gone downhill rapidly and ruined what used to be a great night out. Let’s hope this is the start of great improvements.
