Back on episode 122 of the podcast I mentioned a little place giving away a free book with a brew.
I also mentioned you could probably walk it from Ramsbottom. Well, this past weekend I put my feet where my mouth is, or something like that.
Me and the family took a trip to Tottington from Ramsbottom, it took around an hour to get there and it was a beautiful day. Our 18 month old enjoyed being pushed around on the way (thankfully she didn’t want to get out and walk otherwise it might have been three hours!) and our five year old did fantastic considering it was 2.5 miles there and 2.5 miles back.
The tea room is situated inside The Tottington Centre, it’s essentially a tearoom inside a library. Literally amongst the books. This shouldn’t work but it does, it so does.
It was possibly the most relaxed brew I’ve had whilst out. Something about the setting (being a library) really complimented it, even with two young children.
You might have followed our excursion to Tottington on the Instagram page.
Long and short if it, it’s a recommended visit. You don’t HAVE to walk there obviously but if it’s a nice day, it’s shouldn’t take too long, especially if you’re not with young children.
The tea room was open 10am-3pm but the centre opens from 9:30.

Thanks Lee for your wonderful review. We are so glad you loved the Tea Room in the library at The Tottington Centre. The Tea room is open from 9.30 – 3pm on Mondays and 9.30 to 4.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It’s also open from 10 – 2pm on Saturdays and may extend the opening times further in the lead up to summer. We have an outside dining area too for when the weather gets warmer.
Sorry that should read 9.30 – 3pm on Mondays
Fixed for you 🙂
