What comes to mind when you think of Ramsbottom?
An amazing food destination?- A buzzing community with great people?
- Fantastic scenery with Peel Tower?
How about Whisky?!
No?
Well, that might be about to change as Ramsbottom now has it’s very own Whisky business called Ramsbottom Whisky Company.
It’s not quite clear yet if the Whisky is being distilled in Ramsbottom itself, however the joint venture between several members of Ramsbottom including Stuart Rothwell of The Vineyard has attracted attention of local Whisky drinkers regardless.
Many of you will already be aware of the three fantastic breweries we already have in Ramsbottom, Brewsmith, Irwell Works and RammyCraft, so we’re certainly no stranger to producing alcoholic drinks in Ramsbottom.
The website currently holds the tag line:
A lot has been said about Whisky. A lot has been drunk. Many brands have come and gone and many new producers established.
With various Whisky related quotes from notable people such as George Bernard Shaw, Alexander Fleming and Tommy Cooper, the website isn’t giving much away, however you can register to their mailing list for more information.
When I find out more, I’ll let you know, but currently it’s fairly quiet on the old Whisky front.
