The 2016 Audience Survey

Let me know written on a sticky note Every year I ask if you could take my survey so that I can make sure I’m on target to satisfy your interests.

This is Rammy is a big part of my life and I want to ensure that the time I spend working on it goes some way towards informing or entertaining you, hopefully both.

Based on your survey answers I focus my limited time more towards what you want to see/hear meaning you can get more out of This is Rammy without me wasting time and effort on parts which just don’t resonate with you.

With that in mind, if you’ve not yet completed this years survey I would really appreciate if you could fill it out.

So far I’ve had a great response and I’ve already started to take ideas from it on how I can greater serve you but I’d really like your answers too so that I can be sure I’ve got everyone covered.

You can find this years survey here. There are 10 questions in the survey but you can skip any that don’t apply and it will still be useful but obviously the more questions you can answer the better. It should only take around 5 minutes to complete and it’s completely anonymous.

Sinkhole appears on Tanners Street

On the morning of Thursday the 9th if June a large sinkhole appeared in the middle of the cross section between Tanners Street and Rostron Road.

It’s believed the cause of this is likely due to heavy rain and flash floods in the past 24 hours.

Early reports suggest the work could continue to repair the sinkhole on until the 13th if June but this could extend once more investigation is done into the cause of the sinkhole.

Residents are being forced to park on side roads but parking has always been a premium on Tanners Street.

This is Rammy understands a car was towed away earlier when the owner was unable to be contacted so that roadworks could begin.

I have since been informed that the owner of the car was located and was able to move it before it was towed away.

The car was sitting directly on the hole.

What Have You Always Wanted To Know About Ramsbottom?

Is there anything that you have always wanted to know about Ramsbottom?

Whether it’s what time and days Peel Tower is open or the number of doors on Bridge Street (other people might want to know that too…), there’s something about this town that must be nagging you.

Chances are it’s something neither Google nor any of your friends know the answer to.

And if YOU’RE wondering about something, other Rammyites probably are too.

That’s where I come in. I want to know your Ramsbottom questions – and have a go at answering them. It could be anything related to transport, history, shopping, eating out, attractions or anything else you can think of – provided it’s related to Ramsbottom.

Speaking of glorious weather, I’m currently recording this with a certain shade of red on my face, not due to embarrassment, ok well maybe a little bit of that, but more due to being out without any sun cream on. I should know better, but I do it every time we get a bit of sun. This time we were on a family trip to Moss Bank Park in Bolton, which we’d never been to before but is very well laid out and I just didn’t put cream on. Stupid really.

New coffee shop Grind and Tamp

It was a warm bank holiday Monday when I took a trip to the recently opened Grind and Tamp.

Sandwiched between Weale and Hitchen and Bridge Street News; Grind and Tamp has a very prominent location in Ramsbottom, what with it’s proximity to the crossing and the direct visibility of anyone coming down via Square Street.

Wandering in I was greeted very quickly and she politely waited whilst I had a gander at the blackboard. I asked if they took card as I wasn’t sure if I had cash, they don’t at the moment, turned out I had cash anyway. Being newly opened, I expect taking card will come soon enough, let’s face it it has to as many people now simply don’t carry cash.
