Do you think that Play Streets could work in Ramsbottom, or even if they’re a good idea? Our MP James Frith has recently posted on Facebook to encourage residents of local communities to get involved in the Play Streets initiative.

James goes on to explain in his Facebook post that:
Play streets are quiet residential streets that are temporarily closed to through traffic so that local children can have the space to themselves for a few hours each week.

Doug says:
“Parks and open spaces are for playing on, not streets. Rather than parents just chucking the kids out onto the street so that they can relinquish their parental responsibilities, they should actually improve family life by taking them to the park.”
Chris says:
“Wonderful way of creating a community, it’s not just the children who benefit it brings neighbours together great idea”
Michelle says:
“Good idea, I remember British bulldog and also may we cross your golden river games”
Ann says:
“As long as were given notice so we can get cars on driveways etc I think it’s a great idea”
You can find more about play streets on the Play England website.
