On Thursday there was a bit of drama at the back of The Chocolate Café as mentioned in a tweet on their twitter account.
A Smart car managed to do considerable damage for a sub 1litre car.
Sadly for the Smart car the walls at the back of the café are not made from chocolate. When I passed today there are now metal barriers up to protect docile or compensation seeking members of the public from walking into the building works.
Having once owned a Smart car I can say its quite difficult to crash one (although I have) and the viewing height is brilliant and they are all automatic too so no naughty gears to mess with.
There is a chance they went for the clutch and forgetting its an automatic moved to the accelerator and pushed a bit too hard, but I don’t know what caused this accident.
I do see that both air bags deployed though so it must have been going some speed. I crashed mine on the motorway doing about 40 and my air bags didn’t deploy. Maybe its because I only clipped the car in front with my wheel arch.
Anyway, I hope all parties were OK and nobody was injured too badly.
