My first Black Pudding lobbing, easy right?

I had a go at this year’s Black Pudding Throwing Championships. And amazingly it’s a lot harder than it looks.
I queued up and paid £2 for 6 black puddings, wrapped in some black tights.

A fist full of puddings

This is two attempts. You have to throw three then queue up and go again. Which is fair, someone could buy £10 worth and sit there for ages monopolising the grid.
I waited my turn, placed my foot on the golden grid (literally a spray painted grid) which you have to stand on before you can throw keeping your foot engaged with the grid. My heart was pounding, why? It’s just for fun.

The Sacred Golden Grid

My first attempts I went for were shocking, I totally missed them. Never mind I told myself, the next go I’ll knock them off. Wrong again!

The moral of the story is, it’s not the winning, it’s the taking part that counts, isn’t that right officer.
