It’s been two years since I first mentioned that the local Ramsbottom Park “Top Park” (Bolton Road West Playing Fields) was in need of some attention.
I am happy to report that after a recent visit work has started on a revamp of the facilities with multiple areas clearly being prepared for the installation of new equipment.
As well as this, most of the existing equipment has had a repaint or parts replaced where required.
Sadly, the slide is still just as broken as it was, but I expect this hasn’t gone unnoticed and will be getting attention soon.
It’s great that this park is being upgraded, we’ve found (me and my son) that this park has the best firemans pole out of the three main parks in Ramsbottom (we’ve tried them all). We’re looking forward to having some more equipment to incentivise more park visits, weather permitting.
I couldn’t find any specific plans for what the park will eventually look like, but it looks promising from the work that has started so far.
Once the rain stops then I’m sure the work will kick into high gear and be finished very soon.
