At around 2:30am on Monday the 4th of July fire crews were seen tackling a large fire inside The Venetian Hideaway on Market Place.
This morning the streets are still stained with some white substance presumably what was used by the firefighters to tackle the blaze in the early hours and the air is still thick with the stench of smoke.
There is visible smoke damage to the left window of the building and upstairs windows are also badly smoke damaged.

This is Rammy doesn’t yet know how the fire started but should any more details arrive this post will be updated however given the damage location being focused on the left window and the fact the kitchen was downstairs it can be assumed that the fire started in the basement area.
The cause of the fire is now being put down as an electrical fault under the stairs which has destroyed the stairs and badly damaged the basement.

This is very sad news for Ramsbottom, I’ve visited Venetian Hideaway several times since moving here and it is one of my wife’s favourite places to eat.
I hope Paolo and the team are safe and are able to bounce back from this and that the insurance moves quickly to get things back up and running. Thankfully it’s been reported that nobody was in the building at the time of the fire.
The blaze has destroyed a flight of stairs and the restaurant’s cellar, as well as causing severe smoke damaged to the rest of the building.
Nobody was in the restaurant at the time of the fire.
Crew manager Tony Wilson, from Bury fire station, said: “We have put it down to an electrical fault under the stairs.”

Very sad news. We were only in there on Saturday and had a great night. Hope they can get back up and running soon.
The electrics in that place have been duff since it opened everytime I’ve been in its tripping out the money they make and not once have they sorted the problem out…. Maybe now they will
