Since being ditched after 18 years of light switch-ons in her hometown of Stockport in favour of Chico (of Time fame) from the X-Factor, Rammy has swooped to poach the greatest of British icons.
83 year old Judith was unavailable to comment but insiders says she’s keen to show Stockport what they are missing..by reuniting the cast of Wish you Were Here. This seems to be fitting, given the numbers of times Ramsbottom features in “best places to live” guides. This hasn’t gone over too well with the residents of Stockport however.
Angry Stockport resident, Kenneth Quinn, has already began a campaign to reinstate Chalmers to Stockport, but bridges have been burnt. Kenneth is now prepared to boycott the Stockport switch on and join us in Ramsbottom. A place he admits “I not even been to.”
It’s nice to see that even in her twilight years Judith is still able to drive up tourism, albeit in a slightly unusual fashion this time.
Speaking of fashion, Judith once told ITV chat show Loose Women she always “went commando” because she did not want the outline of her knickers to be visible on TV.
Her closely guarded secret was leaked when interviewer Graham Norton asked her how many pairs of knickers she packs for holiday.
Graham said ‘Do you take one pair and wash them, two pairs and wash them or one for everyday of the week?’ “So I said I don’t take them, and he said ‘You what?’.”
Miss Chalmers said she left her pants at home after a wardrobe assistant told her she should not have a “VPL – visible panty line” on TV.
We all know how cold the Ramsbottom weather can get so let’s hope Judith keeps her panties on this time.
