If you happened to be watching MasterChef: The Professionals on December the 21st on BBC One you might have noticed some familiar sights whilst one of the contestants was talking.
That’s right, Ramsbottom was filmed (but labeled as Bury) for MasterChef.
This is due to former Woodhey High School pupil Steven Lickley making it all the way to the final of MasterChef (no spoilers here, click the link above to watch). This was also reported in Bury Times.
Despite the BBC labeling the scenes as Bury, they got it right with regards to where to film for foodies. MasterChef is an excellent example of the brilliant food we have on offer in Ramsbottom.
I have to say though, if it was MasterChef that had their film crew vans situated in the train station carpark a few months back, that was a heck of a crew for the few clips they filmed. Talk about overheads!
Great work to Steven and thanks to the BBC for filming our little town (and not calling it a Village!).
