Traffic Chaos Set to hit Ramsbottom

Ramsbottom is once again set to become gridlocked with more planned road works. This time however it’s not resurfacing of Bridge Street nor a closure for another (fantastic) festival, It’s not even to fix broken water pipes due to the heavy goods vehicles that use our roads. This time it’s gas. Gas pipe replacement works.

Twitter follower Alan Groves brought to my attention (cheers Alan) recently the planned road works ready to hit Ramsbottom this coming Monday which will undoubtedly cause congestion and suffering over all our already busy routes.

The planned start date for the works is Monday the 23rd of July 2018.

Parking on pavements is unavoidable in some areas of Ramsbottom

How do you think Ramsbottom would cope if a pavement parking ban was put in place?

This is a common sight around Ramsbottom which if the legislation was passed would mean real difficulty for our parking situation.

Would it mean Ramsbottom would need to get the blue signs installed everywhere?

It’s coming up to the May bank holiday this weekend and one of the regular events on the Ramsbottom calendar around this time is the 1940s weekend, or war weekend as it was previously known but for obvious reasons this name fell out of fashion.

This time the 1940s weekend has had a bit of an overhaul and one person leading this charge was none other than Jane Pritchard of Mrs P’s Ice Cream.

This podcast interview was conducted inside the Swimmingly Pool area and despite the fact it was a December day it was really cosy and relaxing, a great environment to learn to swim.
